Incidence of dementia/AD by marital status Lead Investigator: Kyle Steenland Institution : Rollins School of Public Health, Emory U E-Mail : nsteenl@emory.edu Proposal ID : 1300 Proposal Description: The goal of the project is to determine if marital status is a risk factor for dementia or AD incidence among those normal at baseline, using both UDS2 and UDS3 data. The objective is to test the hypothesis that being married is protective against dementia, in light of the recent findings of Liu et al (2019), which support that hypothesis. We also plan to look at the risk of MCI incidence in relation to marital status. Marital status will be considered as a time dependent variable in longitudinal analysis.
